When people ask how a health group as unique as ours has succeeded from the early 90’s until now, our answer is always the same: ‘Success is a fine line between financial performance of the company and its contribution to healthcare in South Africa.’

Clinix Health Group was founded by Dr. Khamane Obed Peter (K O P) Matseke in 1992 and has grown from strength to strength. In 1992 the company employed less than 5 people who led our first hospital Clinix Botshelong-Empilweni Private Hospital to open its doors to the Vosloorus community in 1994. With over 20 years of providing quality healthcare in the communities we operate in, Clinix Health Group owns and manages seven hospitals and has approximately 2600 individuals that are working in our hospitals on a daily basis.

Conveniently located at the heart of the communities we serve, our six private hospitals, provide the very best medical care around the clock. We place a strong focus on delivering quality patient care and friendly service and pride ourselves on delivering superior service, building effective partnerships, upholding integrity and encouraging innovation.

• Dr SK Matseke Memorial Hospital in Diepkloof, Soweto.
• Clinix Tshepo -Themba Private Hospital in Dobsonville, Soweto.
• Solomon Stix Morewa Memorial Hospital in Selby, Johannesburg
• Clinix Botshelong – Empilweni Private Hospital, in Vosloorus, Boksburg.
• Clinix Naledi – Nkanyezi Private Hospital, in Sebokeng, Vereeniging.
• Clinix Phalaborwa Private Hospital in Phalaborwa.
• Victoria Private Hospital in Mafikeng.

Equipped with state-of-the-art theatres, ICU facilities, maternity wards and antenatal clinics, Neonatal Intensive Care Units, Radiology and Pathology services, as well as onsite pharmacies, we embrace most of our communities’ needs. We provide a nurturing environment where we strive to save lives and improve patients’ quality of life.

Clinix Health Group has managed to make a contribution not only to the communities that we serve but also to the healthcare industry as a whole. Our relationship with government also reassures us that we are helping improve the quality of healthcare in South Africa.

Our colours

The selection of the colour orange as our primary colour was based on the concept of Rejuvenation and Passion for life. Rejuvenation centres on care and hope. At Clinix Health Group, we are committed to uplifting people, both body and soul, so that they can look forward to a happier future.

Clinix orange is bright and positive and communicates how we are passionately committed to saving lives and ensuring the quality of life, whilst our secondary colour, platinum is cool and confident and communicates our clinical expertise, innovation and professionalism.

Empowering Communities

Clinix Health Group is very proudly “of, for and by the community”. Prior to South Africa’s democracy, there were few places where black specialists could practise. By setting up private hospitals based in the very communities they serve, Clinix Health Group has been able to give specialist doctors the ideal base from which to operate. In addition, 95% of our nursing, cleaning and administration staff are members of these communities, with over 90% of the group’s employees being female.

The communities surrounding Clinix hospitals have benefited greatly from the group’s presence. They have access to quality private healthcare and services of top specialists. They also enjoy spin-offs that have had a tremendously positive effect on local economies such as employment and development, particularly since the Group sources most products and services from local enterprises.
